Partnering provides Leadership Development

September 7, 2010

A year ago, Leslie Ungar from Electric Impulse Communications and I started discussions on how to partner to provide her clients with the unique Leadership learning experience from the horses.

Not a typical partners, two consultants and coaches coming together to provide services for the others clients, which is what made it intriguing to both of us.  Along with Leslie’s love for horses, she use to ride and show horses for years.  So we met, discussed details, and decided to give it a whirl.   (more…)

Leadership Development ties in South Africa

August 15, 2010

I remember a woman contacting me via email in search of a mentor to understand the work I do with horses.  At that time Yolanda was living in Daubi.  She was a Human Resource Manager for a large credit card company and traveled the world on business.  Shortly after our email exchanges we spoke on Skype and we became friends with a unique bond miles away from one another.  She moved to Singapore and eventually home to South Africa.

Yolanda and I continue our relationship from a distance but the inflence of mentoring has proven to support and enhance her dream of establishing her own busienss using the power of horses. (more…)

More than 3 years ago, I had the honor of attending an International Coach Training Program and became friends with a talented woman, Gila Seritcioglu. We set an intention to present L-E-A-D workshops in her country, Turkey.

That intention, vision and dream became a reality. At the beginning of the month I presented Unharness Your Leader-Self, Leading and Living Your Vision, and Boundaries LEAD workshops in Istanbul, Turkey.

March 16, 2010

Dreams do come true!  Taking LEAD international has been a vision for about 3 years and it has become a reality with the assistance and support of a dear friend that lives in Istanbul, Turkey!

My friend Gila and I dreamt of offering LEAD workshops in her country from the first time she experienced Leading and Living Your Vision workshop in March 2007.   We talked, planned, and put off the vision for one reason or another when the universe opened up and said “The time is NOW!”   (more…)

Adding young & female managment = change

January 19, 2010

A recent article stated that GM was promoting more women and younger people to their management team.  Making this change signaled “they are serious about getting younger people in and running the place right”.  As an Organizational Development professional I see that statement as VERY interesting?

We all know the auto industry is in a financial bind, to put it mildly.  And we all know the industry has needed changes long before the Government bail out in 2009.  (more…)

Visiting the Buffalo

August 7, 2009

We have been welcomed back to do a 2-day Women’s Leadership retreat for a client.  Last year we had a phenomenal time with these women exploring leadership with a herd of horses.  They walked away with many individual and collective lessons about themselves, how they show up in their leadership roles and in their relationships, the impact of their feelings on their actions, and a new awareness of how to utilize themselves in accomplishing their goals and dreams.

The location for the Leadership retreat this year will be in Freemont Indiana at Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve.  I had the pleasure to visit Wild Winds last week with my mother and experience the beauty of this place.  It sets on 400+ acres of sacred land with over 200 head of buffalo, with many new born calves frolicking around their mothers and 15 horses.   (more…)

Horses: Bring order to emotional chaos

March 24, 2009

A horse is a horse of course, of course… but it can be used in a powerful way to teach us valuable life lessons

Horses are natural teachers – if we allow them to be.  They are prey animals.  This means that in the wild they are constantly on the look out for threats of any kind.  They must be keenly aware of their surroundings to survive.

When we interact with horses we can learn incredible lessons about ourselves by using the horse’s keen awareness to gather information about how we interact with our world and others.  (more…)

Leadership from the pasture to the office

January 2, 2009

How many times have you hired a new employee, showed them their desk, the bathroom, the lunchroom, where to find the coffee and supplies, and then left them on their own to figure things out? Or assigned someone to a task or project they’ve never done before or introduced a new work process (more…)
