Loosing our ability to be face-to-face

October 5, 2010

Communication has been on the top list of issues in organizations for year and a constant challenge for parents. What is making it worse? Technology!

With instant gratification that comes with technology, we are spending less and less time ACTUALLY talking to each other (more…)

Paying it forward with Gratitude

January 7, 2010

I wonder how many people took to heart my November message about Gratitude?  When you put something out to the universe rarely do you really know how it perceived, its impact anyone or if anyone actually read what you wrote!  On a rare occasion, someone might actually tells you of your impact and how it effected their life.

My rare occasion occurred when I visited my eye doctor.  He was so excited to tell me how he took my message of gratitude to heart and challenged not only his children but his church as well.   (more…)

Healing power of horses

Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped 18 years ago, she suffered tremendous abuse at the hands of her abductors , and is using the power of horses to heal.

Birthing the Rattles

July 28, 2009

In preparation for birthing my rattles, my spiritual guidance surrounded me.  I had been given the vision of birthing the rattles during a sacred fire ceremony which would take place with a circle of women whom I’d been doing shamanic journeys with for 5 weeks.

As I gathered wood for our fire ceremony I received several messages (I’ve heard some people do not trust in what they hear for they believe it is themselves talking or something their mind makes up.  For me and many people, it is the voice of creator, spirit, God, what ever you choose to call a Higher Power.  I trust the voice I hear to guide my journey in life).  (more…)

Decorating my Rattles

July 21, 2009

Meaning making of decorating my rattles was a profound as making the heads were.  My rattles are similar in their decorations but hold very different meanings.  Both have deer hooves as the handles.  The masculine deer hoof is scared, wounded and even had some fur coming off in the process of the making because it had not dried properly.  (more…)

Life happens…

June 30, 2009

Its summer time which means lots of exciting things to do and family gatherings.  For us, we started the summer off with bringing our grandson’s to visit from Florida.

While we had a wonder-filled time with the kids, it started out a little rough.  Driving the boys back from Florida to Ohio was amazingly simple.  Portable DVD players are amazing.  They watched 7 movies on the way to our place and were wonderfully well behaved sitting in the car for 13 1/2 hours one day and 9 the next. Feminine healing continues…

June 16, 2009

As I continue my journey to heal the wounded feminine side of myself, my rattle making took on new meaning.

In working with my feminine rattle head, the stitching done first was loose and incomplete.  I needed to make the stitching closer together in order to hold the items that would make the beautiful sound of the rattle.  (more…)

A Journey to Finding the Joy in Life

May 26, 2009

Books bring new insights, and at times stir something deep within us.  That is my reaction to “The Shack” by Wm. Paul Young.  The story is filled with sorrow and pain, disbelief, wonderment, beauty, joy and happiness of one mans life. (more…)

Weeding My Emotional Garden

May 12, 2009

What I heard loud and clear in the weeding of my flowerbed by the strong and gentle pine was that I had not recovered the loss of my deepest feminine side of who I am and who I want to be.  So with each weed I pulled, with each root I dug from the earth.. (more…)

Is it Really THAT easy?

May 5, 2009

A coaching client struggled with sadness which came with many tears and questions.  Profoundly she wanting to know “Why do I struggle like this?  Why can’t I keep my emotions from surfacing?”  (more…)
